The Fog was illustrated using traditional techniques, mainly ink and marker lens on water colour paper. I like to use watercolour paper as it has a grain and tooth that works well with both ink washes and Promarker pens.
As the content of the Comic Book Poem involves fog, I decided to use ink washes to reflect the spread of the fog and present the dark grey nature that fog has.
I also made the town in which The Fog takes place bright and colourful. This was to contrast the bleakness of the fog itself, if it was too dark the Comic Book Poem would be visually bland and this was not the approach it was looking for.
Lettering for the Fog was done digitally. This was because I wanted the words to stand out and be easily read. When lettering by hand and using handwriting there is a chance that this will not scan well when put into a computer and uploaded online. Therefore the text is bold and easy to read.
The Fog also has its own front cover. I have been thinking about the front cover of the Series 2 Zine and wanted to get some practice in doing book covers. Therefore The Fog has its own cover which looks to reflect the story contained within the Comic Book Poem.
