Illustrating a Comic Book Poem – How to Photograph the Dead

How to Photograph the Dead is another collaboration with Franklin Poems (more information here). Other than relying on panels and frames to separate out the Comic Book Poem I took a similar approach to the method I undertook with Sleeping. I looked at pin ups and one singular images and developed an image that would work on a single page. I also undertook an experimental approach and decided to incorporate abstract photography into the image. Photography is something I do in my spare time and I like how photographers compose images and present emotion. I also like experimental photography and abstract art.

How to Photograph the Dead deals with memory and recollection. These are fairly abstract terms and difficult to present visually. For the image I wanted to continue the abstract approach therefore the image is open to interpretation and will hopefully mean different things to different people.
